Lauren Marks speaks about her battle with Brocca’s aphasia after an aneurysm ruptured in her brain in 2007. Robbed of her ability to speak, read and write, Lauren fought back from a vocabulary of less than 40 words, to becoming a successful writer, speaker and advocate in the effort to combat the debilitating effects of traumatic brain injuries.  Her book, “A Stitch of Time” is being published by Simon and Schuster in 2014, and chronicles her first year of recovery, relearning language and rebuilding her brain.
